JOB OPPORTUNITY

The National Insurance Board is seeking an experienced, qualified and proactive professional to fill the position of Deputy Director of the National Insurance Scheme.

CORE FUNCTION:
The Deputy Director is expected to administer the core operations of the Grenada National Insurance Scheme. The successful candidate is expected to essentially oversee the activities of the various departments within the National Insurance Scheme to implement the operational and strategic direction of the organization.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
a) Master’s degree in Finance/Investment Management, Management, Economics or a related field
b) At least seven (7) years senior management experience
c) Excellent organizational time management, strong communication, negotiating, teamwork and computing skills.
d) Excellent financial management expertise and skills
e) Good working knowledge of the national and international business environments as they relate to best practices in the management of social security institutions.
f) Excellent networking skills. 
g) Excellent analytical skills

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Reporting to the Director, the Deputy Director is generally accountable for effecting executive oversight and guiding, directing and leading assigned functions within the Grenada National Insurance Scheme.

a) Assists the Director in the performance of his duties as presented in the National Insurance Act.

b) Develops and monitors the performance and planning framework for the operations component of the Grenada National Insurance Scheme.

c) Directs the introduction and implementation of new measures in the various areas of responsibilities.

d) Develops plans for the improvement of the range of services offered by the Grenada National Insurance Scheme.

e) Undertakes special assignments as may be directed by the Director or the National Insurance Board.

f) Represents the Board at such external fora as may be decided.

g) Acts for the Director during official and unofficial periods of his absence.

COMPENSATION:
Salary and other benefits will be based on qualification and experience and in accordance with the National Insurance Board’s remuneration and benefit package.

NIS Drop-Off Box

The NIS wishes to inform the public that the Drop-off box is located on the ground floor of the new NIS office close to the main entrance.

Persons wishing to drop off cheques or communicate with the NIS in writing can continue to take advantage of this drop off facility at any time day or night.

Paid Parking at NIS Car Park - Saturday’s Only

Paid Parking Spaces are available at the NIS CAR PARK - Saturdays only 7am - 2pm!  The NIS Car Park can be accessed by the public from the Melville Street Entrance (next to the former NIS Office)

NIS Donates to St. Ann’s Infant School - Rose Hill St. Patrick

A Computer and printer were donated to the St. Ann’s Infant School, Rose Hill St. Patrick. The presentation was made on January 17th, 2014. The principal and three of the students expressed their appreciation to the NIS on behalf of the school for consenting to their request. The principal stated that their current computer and printer was out of commission for some time, hence the donation was a great need.
