This
benefit is paid upon the death of an insured
person ($2,320.00), his/her child ($870.00) or
spouse $1,740.00). These rates are reviewed
periodically. The Funeral Grant is designed to
assist in meeting the funeral expenses.
N.B.
If the deceased person was receiving a
Sickness, Maternity or Age Benefit at the time
of death, then the payment of a Funeral Benefit
becomes payable automatically.
Claiming a Funeral Benefit
To claim a Funeral
Grant, the claimant should fill out the
necessary claim form, which is available from
any N.I.S office. This form should again be
